We all have high hopes and big dreams right?!?! We’ve written goals, objectives, and timelines for life’s major events.  We know where we want to be in 5…10…20 years…Every intricate detail is planned…i’s dotted, t’s crossed.   But what happens when, after ALL that planning, things don’t turn out the way we expected? It’s easy to feel thrust into a whirlwind of disappointment, discouragement and despair…

The Bible tells us that man has many plans in his heart but ONLY the counsel of the Lord will stand (Proverbs 19:21). Our plans are often based on our limited understanding of the world around us, even of ourselves. That is why we must rely on our Heavenly Father, the Lofty One, who can see everything we cannot see, especially in those moments when what we just knew was the right thing for us, didn’t quite pan out the way we hoped.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) God has a MUCH better view of the past, present and future from where He’s seated on His throne.  Even better, He loves us more than we could ever imagine. So when He is directing us…leading us..guiding us…our confidence is in the truth of His Word in Jeremiah 29:11.  HE knows the plans he has for you, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

So, you may not understand why things are going the way they are going but let the truth comfort you. God loves you with an everlasting love and He orders the steps of the righteous. He will not mislead you and He will never desert you.  Trust that all things…the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful….will work out for your good because you love God (made possible by the AMAZING love of Christ expressed on the cross) and are called according to HIS purpose. God is not a man that He should lie. He fulfills EVERY promise He has made.  He’s the only One who’s been around since before time, never wavering, never changing.  If that’s not credibility, I don’t know what is!  God is sovereign and faithful and more than worthy of your trust…so stay hopeful, remain in His love, and know that He is with you always.  He will perfect all that concerns you in Jesus’ Name.

Howdy!

So on my way to work this morning, I was reading my snippet from one of my fav of Pastor Tayo’s messages…

Thank God I was in a sharing mood! So here you go, enjoy this lil nugget of wisdom…

Title: “God is my light”
Preacher: Pastor TAYO
Main Scripture(s): John 1:1-5, John 9:1-9

Synopsis:

Light is essential…until you come into the light of GOD you really can’t have life! Or it (life) hasn’t really started. You need the light to see…light allows for better direction.

When you have been in darkness for so long, you need time for your eyes to adjust to the light…same thing for Christians, when God gives you a revelation, it takes a while for you to adjust to it…you need the Holy Spirit to help you…HE is the reveal-er.

JESUS before healing the blind man in John 9, called HIMSELF “the Light of the World”
-Jesus knows exactly where you are
-Jesus’ response was not typical- the clay was used to cover the blind man’s eyes
-Jesus tells him to go and wash his face (guy was still blind)

This lets me believe that once Jesus comes into your life, you can do the unimaginable.

When the Light of GOD shines on you, you’ll be noticed, you’ll shine…Psalm 36:9

Matt 5:16…Daniel 12:3

Isaiah 60:1–we need to arise and shine for your light has come! There is something about a Christian who reflects the light of GOD; he/she becomes irresistible.

HOWEVER, be mindful and prepared by grace because the light that brings recognition, also brings scrutiny. You can’t just talk the talk, you must walk the walk!

Psalm 27:1–as long as GOD’s light is going before us, regardless of what obstacles  might come our way, we shouldn’t be afraid.

Saints, GOD wants us to be light to this world…Isaiah 60:1-3. That’s the goal!  It’s time for GOD’s saints to shine! Stand for GOD in a dark place and you, being a light, will shine and showcase God’s glory!

LORD I pray that Your light will shine in our lives in Jesus’ name.
